Dental Bonding

Dental bonding is a term to describe a dental procedure where a tooth colored dental resin is adhered to a tooth. This procedure is a part of Adhesive dentistry. Adhesive dentistry is a branch of dentistry which deals with adhesion or bonding to the natural substance of teeth, enamel and dentin. Bonding is typically used as a cosmetic procedure to change the shape, color, or size of a tooth. It can be used to repair chipped teeth, fill in spaces between teeth, or cover dark or stained teeth. The composite resin used in bonding can be shaped and polished to match the surrounding teeth. It also can be used to close spaces between teeth, to make teeth look longer or to change the shape or color of teeth. It is a conservative, inexpensive, and painless procedure.
